On April 6th LinkedIn announced the full opening of its developer platform, stating it as an attempt to “Help Build The Professional Web” (LinkedIn Blog Post).

While its closed launch back in October only supported Javascript development, this release supports OAuth 2.0 making things a bit easier. LinkedIn has a plugin tab on its development page that generates quick plugins for someone interested in integrating LinkedIn.

An example: Share LinkedIn plugin, vertical count:

http://platform.linkedin.com/in.js

That took a whole 2 seconds. It works well.
